Shaggy and Sting'southward new joint album "44/876" debut at the top of the Billboard Reggae Chart this week.

The project was released on Apr 20th and has been rave reviews among reggae fans. In an era where albums sales has been going through a slump for the genre, the project sold x,227 copies according to Neilsen Music. This makes "44/876" the commencement reggae album to sell over 10K copies in the start week since 2022 when Rebelution'due south Falling Into Place sold over 13,000 copies in the first week.

Shaggy says the duo isn't worried about the chart merely it'south a proficient feeling, nevertheless, to make an appearance on the chart. Elsewhere on the Reggae Chart, "Tropical House Cruises To Jamaica" album returns to the nautical chart at No. 2, while Sly & Robbie and Junior Natural concord firm at No. vi. Damian Marley'southward Grammy-winning album "Stony Loma" slips down three places to No. ix.

Speaking about the anthology during a contempo Podcast with Billboard, Shaggy everything just felt right nearly working with Sting so they both put everything aside to make the project happen. "When magic happens, information technology just happens, brother," he said. "I mean, there'southward no other way I tin can explicate this, you know what I hateful? Because you do everything in life off feeling and free energy. And the energy with me and Sting was just right. It merely felt right. Everything about it felt right.

Shaggy and Sting will be taking the album on the road starting in June when their joint 44/876 Tour kicks off. The tour will run all the style through to Baronial with more dates to be announced.
